Use B650 AORUS Elite AX with G.Skill DDR5 to power on DRAM LED.
I finally got the computer running with a fresh RAM module, but after roughly a week it stopped working again. The DRAM light came back on and the system didn’t boot. I don’t remember exactly what happened, but it started while playing Hogwarts Legacy. I stepped out for about twenty minutes and came back to find the DRAM light still lit and the machine unresponsive. Notably, the motherboard LEDs near the bottom—those decorative ones—not the diagnostic ones—started up after a few seconds when the DRAM was active. I know the hardware is fine, the components are working as they should, and everything seems to be in order from the box. The specs I have are: Ryzen 5 7600x, RTX 3060 ti, Crucial DDR5 16GB, Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX.
Hey, I just read that post and I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. I bought the same motherboard, and my PC ran smoothly for three weeks. Then suddenly everything stopped working—no signal on the monitor, no boot-up, and the DRAM indicator stayed lit. I tried all sorts of fixes: tweaking cables, switching monitors and slots, resetting CMOS, reinserting RAM and the GPU, doing a Q-Flash and updating BIOS. I even asked online for help while waiting. My tech support confirmed the same issue, and it seems this particular model has reliability problems. Sometimes one of these steps helps, but for me it didn’t. The only way forward is to replace the board. If anyone else has the same problem, try another compatible model and steer clear of this one.
Same issue encountered with the Asus Prime B650M-A II. Followed all the steps mentioned. Attempting to flash the BIOS to check the outcome.
Same issue continues with the Gigabyte X670E Aorus Master Rev 1.0 running BIOS F10c. After installing Q Flash Plus to revert to F9, the problem remains unresolved. The system functioned normally for several weeks before I powered it down to install additional HDDs, after which it stopped booting. Detailed account posted on Reddit.
Hey there. I'm facing the same problem you mentioned, with identical specs and RAM. I've been talking to GIGABYTE support, but it seems like I might need to replace my RAM entirely. It's frustrating since I can't return the old ones. I also discovered my SSD isn't compatible either. After going through your usual troubleshooting steps, my plan is to reset the BIOS by shorting pins 1 and 6 together. It's a bit risky, but I want to avoid that. I'll keep you updated as I progress and let you know if I discover a solution or need to buy new parts. Take care!
I faced a similar problem and managed to fix it, just like another user. The setup included:
- Processor: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO Series (AMD Expo) 32GB (2 x 16GB)
- BIOS update: Q-flash plus to version F6a
- RAM placement: Initially in slots A1 and B1, later moved to A2 and B2
- CMOS adjustment: Removed battery and shorted the reset_CMOS jumper
After these changes, I was able to boot into BIOS and install Windows.
