Does it seem like the item appears again once you mine it? Are you on a multiplayer server? You may need to upgrade your computer or reinstall the game.

Absolutely, you're right. It usually takes around 3,970 seconds or more to launch Minecraft properly. Likely the issue is with the software—try reinstalling Java, the game itself, and any resource packs.
