I'm experiencing some unstable connection problems that cause sudden drops in service, affecting games, Discord, and general internet use. As part of troubleshooting, I'm checking whether the powerline adapter or Ethernet cable is the issue, while noting that my motherboard might be a factor. I've reached out to BT support, who reported no visible issues. Two engineers were dispatched to investigate other potential causes. Despite the country's economic strength, only about 17% of homes have fiber-optic service, and my house is over 300 years old, which could explain the wiring condition. Additionally, the Wi-Fi card is performing better now, so I'm considering sticking with it temporarily to see if it resolves the problems. This situation has felt a bit stressful, almost like I'm worried about making a mistake.

unfortunately, running a cable wouldn't be feasible, so I used the power line adapter. my home is constructed with solid stone, which requires a heavy-duty drill to penetrate. in areas with wood, drilling wouldn't be practical either.

Others suggest using the black 1x slots because they’re single cards, which means no interference with other slots. This keeps your GPU slot bandwidth stable. Opt for the lower slot to help manage heat, but overall it should work smoothly without issues.
