I'm not sure, but I'm curious about how characters in those games interact or what happens when people use emulators for them.

Everyone seems to just focus on downloading emulators.

Someone has no concern about legality, these games have been around for years. The businesses profited from them, and many of those companies are long gone. I bet most will be pleased that someone still wants to play them. Those that aren’t are just annoying, so you should play and share them just to challenge them.

No need to worry unless you save the game from your own copy even if it's identical to what you own—it means it's not yours. That’s why it’s considered illegal. Absurd, huh? Still, I’d love a simple method to transfer all my old NES titles to ROMs. Having so many and connecting the NES just to play them briefly is really tedious. Every system that claims to support NES, SNES, Genesis, etc., falls short in my opinion.

This is why it's ok to use roms from games that old. It's not the same thing a pirating a current AAA title. None of the companies that made those games are still actually selling any of them. So they are not losing any money by you not buying from them, because no one can anymore anyway.
