Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure this out after more than an hour. I think I might be missing something obvious, or maybe it's just not doable. My goal is to connect my Windows 11 laptop as a second monitor using HDMI for my Windows 10 desktop. Unfortunately, Miracast isn't working because my PC doesn't have a network card, and I'm struggling to find a straightforward fix without diving too deep into technical stuff. I'd really appreciate any suggestions someone might have.

Not straightforward to achieve. Your laptop’s HDMI connection is an output, not an input. What do you really mean when you say your PC lacks a network card? You have no internet connection at all? While tools like Mouse Without Borders and Synergy let you share peripherals between devices for productivity, they need both systems connected to the same network.

Sorry for the confusion, my computer lacks a wireless card, so I’m only connected via Ethernet. This Lenovo Legion gaming laptop has USB-C on the side and another at the back marked USB-PD—could those be compatible?

Sadly, very few laptops—especially older models—feature display input ports.
