Hi all,
I'm planning to purchase a new wired gaming headset, but all the reviews mention that the original cable produces a lot of cable noise—microphonics. What material should the new cable be made from? Should I consider the speed of type-c 3.1 gen2? I'm feeling confused and need some advice. Thanks!

It's unclear what the new cable is constructed from because the reviews didn't specify the headset model, particularly if it involves an "original" and a newer version.

Sorry about that, the headset is the Creative SXFI Gamer. Creative confirmed they thought USB 2.0 was sufficient and recommended using an AWG 18 wire or smaller if the cable length goes beyond 2 meters. The cable is made of braided nylon, as described on their website.

The cable seems to have good quality, but since I haven't used that headset before, I can't confirm the cable's condition or noise level.

I received the headphones a few days ago, but the cable noise seems quite noticeable, though I doubt it would stand out during gaming. I’ll need to listen more to be sure.
From a technical standpoint, I sent a message to Creative and they provided a thorough response:
"We would like to inform you that the cable only needs to be USB 2.0 high speed compliant and does not require USB 3.1 Gen 2. If your preferred cable length is over 2m, it’s recommended to use an AWG 18 wire or lower."
