I require this kind of device mainly for my PC desktop, a laptop with only VGA output, and the Samsung Galaxy A12 phone. I’d use it with a small 10" monitor such as those found in cars. It would show vital PC information like temperatures, usage stats, and frequencies. Most of these connections are HDMI or VGA, but I’m unsure if it would work for the others.

It seems you're referring to a product similar to what JayzTwoCents built. The link provided appears to be related to an eBay item, and the context suggests it's about a display adapter. If you need more details about the build or specifications, let me know!

Sorry but mo, not like this, that's a dedicated display with own processor etc based on Raspberry Pie,
I mean something like this
https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Alumin..._6...930&sr=8-6
ta use 10" monitor/display that has HDMI input. Basically just ordinary small monitor. Found many of those adapters but can't find information if they can work of a desktop PC with dedicate GPU, All talk is about phones, tablets and laptops or devices with IGPU.

It would be useful to know the part number or origin of the display so we can determine what needs to be addressed.

The display doesn't matter, it's just a small monitor with standard HDMI input and operates at 12v. In reality, any monitor should function.
As USB lacks video compatibility, this adapter must include a small GPU. This applies to phones and other devices too.

If the phone supports USB-C, it's simply included in the alternative mode. If it features Micro B, you must use a cable compatible with MHL. For your computer, just connect with an HDMI cable.

Video output devices via USB don't include a GPU; they rely on the CPU to display the image.

However, the signal needs to be transformed in some way, which requires an active element.

And the active part runs on USB. But if you're pointing out that having an active component is an issue, I don't understand why.

I'm checking whether USB adapters to HDMI function on a PC in the same way as with phones, tablets, and laptops that use an integrated GPU, as mentioned that they won't work if a dedicated GPU is available.

If you're referring to a product like the one linked, then it functions no matter what GPU is installed. What someone said was incorrect or unclear.
