Good morning, I used a USB with POP_OS! Then tried flashing a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO, which worked after moving some files. The process went like this: first a clean install failed, then an advanced install also failed. After switching back to Windows 11, I tried reflashing the drive again but it didn’t work—Windows can’t access the USB and BalenaEtcher stopped. Now I’m in the live boot environment of POPOS! This isn’t my first Linux install; this machine has another Windows 11 drive too. Secure boot and TPM are both disabled, which I double-checked. I haven’t seen anything like this before and prefer fixing it myself before buying something new. I’ll share pictures later.

It seems the issue resolved itself. The next day, I performed a fresh installation on the same drive while gathering thoughts for this article. No major changes were made; likely just restarting it helped.

You're facing the same issue, which is common. To make Windows recognize a USB drive, you'll need to enable it in Device Manager and ensure it's properly detected. If it still doesn't work, try formatting it as a USB drive using the built-in tools.
