Uncertain if it's me or the incorrect cable, it's really tough to insert this one into my HDD. It doesn't move. Feels like a USB 3.0 header.

It shouldn’t demand too much pressure. A bit of effort is needed, not the intense force found at USB 3.0 connectors. The device is designed to fit only in a specific direction. Make sure it isn’t turned over.
