I assembled my PC in March last year. I've faced multiple issues but haven't found a clear solution. The mouse, keyboard, and any USB devices don't function. I own a 250GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive, yet the hard drive appears missing. Full specifications: CPU - Intel Core i7-7700K, Cooler - Corsair H100i v2, Motherboard - Asus STRIX Z270-E, GAMING ATX LGA1151, Memory - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB), DDR4-3000, Storage - Samsung 960 EVO 250GB, Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5", Video Card - Asus GTX 1070 8GB, Power Supply - EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W (80+ Gold).

I attempted to fix things by uninstalling and reinstalling USB drivers via Device Manager, running MalwareBytes, rebooting multiple times, and restoring from a system restore point. The USBs and hard drive appear normal in BIOS and Linux, but Windows is problematic. I'm considering a clean Windows installation. Appreciate your assistance.

Motherboard makers should clearly mark M.2 SSDs as blocking SATA connections. I often see similar discussions. Your motherboard turns off the SATA6G_1 (SATA 6) port when an M.2 SSD is plugged in. Make sure your hard drive isn’t attached to that slot.

The hard drive isn't connected there, and it appears normal in the BIOS. The keyboard and mouse are functioning properly as well.
