The file version is U32. It's better to check the header text rather than USB3.2 or consult the manual.

I understand the mention of USB 3.2, but I'm uncertain if it matches the header on your previous motherboard. I don't want to risk damaging anything by inserting the wrong connection. Are you sure they're identical and it should work?

It remains consistent. Version 3.2 represents a newer USB3 standard with increased speed. One USB3 header can support two USB3 ports as described in the guide. F_U32C refers to the Type-E connector for USB-C, which can be adapted to a USB3 header using an adapter.

Yes, switching parts should improve the speed of those two ports on your case.

It should be. I’m not very familiar with USB high-speed variants because their names have changed over time. @Eigenvektor would love to explain more!

It would be nice, though in reality it probably won’t change much. All the files I move from my computer using those ports are stored on mechanical hard drives, which means I only get about 200-300 megabytes per second. Still, as long as the case cable fits and it functions, I’m okay with that. That’s why I chose this particular motherboard in the first place—I wanted a hard drive setup that would work smoothly. Most Z790 boards only have four SATA ports unless you spend more, but when I stopped looking for a six-port option, I found one that was really affordable and had six ports, so I went with it.

It mainly varies with the device you're using. The header layout stays consistent at 19 pins, but be cautious during connection and disconnection—USB 3 headers aren't very reliable.

Usually not. USB 3.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 offer identical performance. Speed details: 5 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 1x1, USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 3.0 10 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 2x1, USB 3.1 Gen 2 10 Gbps, USB 3.2 Gen 1x2, and 20 Gbps.

The F_U32 and F_U32C files on your Z790 motherboard are essentially the standard USB 3.0 drivers, just rebranded with a completely different naming convention. This adds more confusion rather than clarity.
