USB Keyboard/Mouse Switch causes keyboard failure in BIOS and GRUB settings.
Three devices are linked to a KCeve USB 2.0 Switch Selector: 1) Raspberry Pi 4B 2) Asrock X570 Taichi 3) Asrock B550M It previously functioned perfectly, but lately I can't select my OS in GRUB on system 2. On system 3 everything operates smoothly. After startup, system 2 also runs normally. Still, it bothers me since I can't choose my OS to boot or enter BIOS setup. I've tried everything without success: checking all other USB ports on the motherboard, using a different switch (same brand/model) plus two other brands including Cable Matters 4 port USB switch, attempting BIOS downgrade and reset, changing power delivery settings to both off and on, replacing the cable from the switch to the PC, and testing another keyboard. The keyboards I've used are Kinesis Freestyle Pro and Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000 v1.0. I haven't found any specific USB configurations (like legacy mode) in the BIOS. This issue has been puzzling me for many years, and I'm unsure what might be causing it. If you have any insights or recommendations, I'd appreciate hearing them.
