I've been testing various operating systems, but my laptop isn't recognizing the 16GB USB 3.0 stick. A 4GB USB 2.0 works fine, yet software like Windows and CloudReady need at least 8GB. I've tried turning off secure boot and using legacy formats without success. It seems the issue might be related to the drive type—since 3.0 is supposed to work backward, but only the smaller 4GB version does.

Use a tool such as Rufus to locate and erase the storage device.

The laptop is quite old. Your old computer only recognizes FAT-formatted flash drives, so you'll need a similar drive to function properly.

The laptop dates back to 2014, specifically an HP Pavilion x360 11n-038ca. I managed to get a workaround by tweaking a tutorial and successfully installed Chrome OS. I used Linux Mint on the 4GB drive that was functional, then transferred the Chrome OS files to the larger 16GB drive. Accessing the ChromeOS folder via Terminal resolved the Bluetooth issue. I’m happy to share my approach.
