USB 2.0 ports are not detected by 3.0 hubs anymore
Windows 10, version 2004 (19041.508) runs on an Asus Rampage V Extreme motherboard with the latest BIOS. After a fresh install, I can't connect my USB 2.0 devices in the 3.0 slots. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
The system functioned well for years, but a fresh Windows install was considered. It seems you thought USB problems could be resolved by switching to a new OS. Not ideal, but acceptable. Start by booting Ubuntu from the USB and inspect the USB ports—this will help determine if the issue is hardware-related or driver-based.
