There seems to be a sudden spike in your RAM consumption, reaching nearly the full capacity of your 16GB. You've tried disabling background apps and closing other programs, but usage remains high even with just one Chrome tab open. This is causing performance issues like lag and freezing. Could you clarify if this happens under specific conditions or after certain tasks?

I haven’t seen any signs that I recently installed anything causing the lag. I’ve tried a few updates, but it was already slow before. For reliable protection, consider using a trusted antivirus program.

Malwarebytes is a good option, per @Crunchy Dragon. You can also run Microsoft Defender and perform a complete system scan.

Tested the app and received a warning about Kernl. It worked well before lag appeared, so I isolated it and kept my RAM usage elevated.

There wasn’t a lot to worry about—just one detection, not too serious, and I’m still behind in the race.
