I am just starting with overclocking and using AMD Overdrive. In Prime95's Torture Test, my CPU usage hits 100% but then after about 10 to 25 seconds it starts dropping. I adjusted from 3.5 GHZ to 4.2, then 4.3, and now I'm trying 4.4 to reach 4.5 GHZ. Is this overclock stable? Should I increase the voltage? This is my first time overclocking a CPU, so any advice or tips would be really helpful.

I figured it out straightforwardly; I pushed the processor beyond its safe limits for the motherboard. The stable clock came out at 4.1Ghz. I just tried to overclock it to verify compatibility with the cooler, so I could return it if needed before receiving my new CPU without any issues.

I’ve increased from 3.5 GHz to 4.2, 4.3 and now aim for 4.4 to reach 4.5 GHz. Is my overclock stable? Should I try higher voltage? I’m completely new to this and any advice would be great. Your motherboards’ VRMs might be throttling. Which model are they?

You might be overheating the CPU and it's reducing the multiplier to safeguard itself from harm.
Which cooler are you using?
Your motherboard model? Affordable options won't work.

You might be overheating the CPU and it's reducing the multiplier to prevent damage. What cooler are you using? Do you have a motherboard? Lower-end ones won't work well. The CPU temperature is usually between 50 and 60 degrees Celsius. I'm using the Cryorig H7. My motherboard is an ASROCK 980de3/u3s3. It seems like I might be overclocking too much, since this is my first time changing a CPU.

I wouldn't aim higher than 4.3 on that board. Its 4+1 power phase design is weak. Also, consider cooling the VRMs since they could overheat.

I was running stress tests with Prime95 without any issues, but suddenly received a BSoD. The error message displayed was "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED." This suggests there might be an issue with the overclocking rather than something unrelated. No file name was provided afterward, which adds to the confusion.

I was running stress tests with Prime95 without any errors, but suddenly I received a BSoD. The error message said SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Does this mean I have a faulty overclock or something else? It didn’t provide a file name either, and I’m completely confused. You can’t even ask this while trying to run an unstable overclock, right?
