Usage figures seem inconsistent (Help needed)
You can observe from the attached photos that the task manager indicates 83% of my memory is in use. Yet the applications I’m using are nowhere near that level. In the second picture, you’ll notice I have 16GB of RAM and it reports 13.4GB being utilized, but I’m confused about what’s consuming this space. It’s frustrating since I’m working on a video edit and performance is severely impacted with very little memory left. Could someone assist in resolving this issue? Here are my details: i7-6700K CPU, GTX 1080TI Z170 GAMING M5 (MS-7977), motherboard with 16GB RAM, Corsair 2 Hard Drives (1x 1TB, 2x 4TB) and one 128GB SSD.
You seem to remember correctly from earlier. As long as you're not at full memory capacity, everything should work fine. Some files stay in RAM for quick access, but if you require more space, the system will release them. I don’t think memory is the problem, but I’d likely close around 20 of your open browser tabs.
