My surgeon nephew just called me on WhatsApp video while taking a brief pause from an operation. He mentioned he accidentally wiped something from his keyboard while typing, which shifted the active page to the left side. During the call, it seemed the page was occupying less than half of the width, but it wasn’t a regular zoom out. The fonts remained at a normal size, and the right side of the Word window showed a blank white area, not a grey one. Closing the window or restarting it didn’t help. He noted that the document still prints correctly, suggesting the issue might be related to the view settings. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

It appears the content was adjusted to display on the "side by side" view.
Switch to the View tab.
Ensure the "views" option is selected as "page layout".
Set the "page movement" to "vertical".

I tested it on my own machine and what appeared most similar was the 'Outline' view. He successfully brought it back to normal.
