When I opened my room today, the air had a burnt smell. After some time, I discovered the source was my Advice AIN1200-3, 1200VA, two batteries UPS with weak batteries.

What might lead to the UPS emitting a burnt crisp odor? The internal components could be damaged. Disconnect the UPS from your system and have a qualified electrician examine it, possibly replacing the battery to fix the issue.

I will take it to the computer lab on Thursday to check what occurred. He knows how to open the UPS and replace the batteries inside it.

I wouldn't try to work with that device.
If the batteries were low, you'd still have to swap them out.
