At least with Verizon, you can buy the gear directly instead of renting. Each unit costs $10, and the package is about $200. The return on investment is roughly 20 months.

It seems you're considering sticking with the modem you have and going with the Dream Machine option. Reducing your speed to 1Gbps makes sense because all your switches support that speed anyway. Paying for 200Mbps isn't worth it when you can't even use it, but 1Gbps is more than enough.

Are the 1200mb and 1000mb plans offering quicker data transfers? Both use DOCSIS technology, yet you’d expect the larger capacity to provide more reliable upload performance.

My area’s Xfinity speed limit reaches 40Mbps for uploads. It’s disappointing since AT&T Fiber provides both high-speed downloads and up. However, I prefer not to interact with AT&T Support because their service often goes offline.
