Upgrading to Ryzen 5 3600. Gigabyte ab350m Gaming 3
Reset the BIOS first, then install the new CPU. It should work afterward.
This process will reinitialize the BIOS to ensure stability after CPU changes. Disconnect your PC, remove the old CPU, reset the CMOS by briefly connecting the "CMOS" pins on the motherboard for five seconds, then reinstall the new CPU. Reconnect the PC and return to BIOS settings to enable XMP for RAM.
The optimal method involves carefully placing the pins in a way that maximizes profit potential.
Use a screwdriver equipped with a magnet or remove the CMOS battery for 5-10 minutes while the computer is unplugged and the CPU is off.
Could you clarify what you mean by "mess this up"? Are you asking about potential risks or consequences of an action?
Hi everyone, I wanted to share what I’ve been experiencing. Even though I was using BIOS version F50D, I thought downgrading to 31 and then back up would help. But this approach hasn’t worked—my PC just freezes on the Gigabyte logo screen. I’m not sure what to do next. I’ve tried booting with just one RAM stick and holding the power/reset button together. Right now I’m trying to clear the CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes.
