You're curious about switching to Windows 10. It's generally more user-friendly than Windows 7, offering modern features and updates. The Probook 6550B should work with Windows 10, but compatibility depends on your hardware specs and system requirements. You can usually install it as a secondary OS if issues arise.

You can test it yourself and switch back to Windows 7 if needed. However, I don’t suggest rushing into Windows 10 just yet due to several problematic issues.

As long as you perform a fresh installation after the upgrade, it’s a great operating system. Make sure you install the latest drivers, even though I rely on the official versions.

There are only a few problematic issues, mainly related to NVIDIA and AMD drivers.

You need quick access without issues. After using Windows 8, switching back to Windows 7 worked smoothly, preserving your settings and files. Intel integrated graphics functioned properly too.

The drivers are quite numerous, differing from card to card. There are occasional visual issues and bugs during regular use, not just while gaming. A notable problem is that Chrome and Firefox sometimes fail to launch on certain systems, but this has been resolved with the latest update. Also, the Windows 10 Store is quite disorganized at the moment.

If you're not going to do a fresh setup, just don't bother

there are no updates made at line 27 of PC now, and most issues are limited to video drivers and a few games.

You can create a backup of the previous operating system without a clean install by using tools like Windows Backup or third-party utilities. This way you’ll preserve your data before switching to Windows 10.

in all three devices at home there are issues with Windows 10—crashes during startup, app clicks closing, Chrome failing to launch after a week, and the blue progress bar problem while entering URLs.
