Upgrading Ryzen CPU and inquiry regarding motherboard TPM?
So I don't have a fake. I've reached out to the seller and will check their response. I understand I should probably return this. If it works, I'm fine with keeping it. It's hard to know if it'll function without installing.
After some research, I discovered the message about the diffused in Taiwan was removed on newer CPUs. The cooler model is from ID Cooling.
On Amazon, when I view my orders and click on this item, it displays a different seller with a higher price but the same cooler brand. This seems inconsistent with how Amazon typically operates. If I go to my orders now, I'll see the seller listed as different from the one I originally purchased from.
it seems genuine to me. besides the defused model in Taiwan.
the cpu cooler fan being discussed is an ID cooler.
as count mike mentioned, if these were tray CPUs, they wouldn't come with a cooler by default. therefore, a budget cooler was chosen.
in fact, this is typical on Amazon—just check the seller and try to stick to the platform.
I returned the used CPU and received a new one. Updated the BIOS to version 10.10 and installed the CPU without problems. Thanks for your assistance. Perhaps I should write another post about this. My main question is whether this PC can be upgraded to Windows 11 without a full Windows reinstall. The health check app says it supports running Windows 11, but there’s no option listed for an upgrade.
Used the Windows media creation tool to download Win 11 onto a USB drive, then installed it from there. I did this on a system that recently got the option, even though it was possible to run it.
