Everything is fine. The Ryzen 5600X is a brand new CPU and the original motherboard didn<|pad|>. Before purchasing a board, verify it includes the BIOS update for the 5600X. If not, and the board was made earlier than the Ryzen 5600 release, a BIOS update will be necessary. This implies you require a CPU compatible with the B550 and must perform the BIOS update prior to installing the 5600X. If your board offers a "Flash the BIOS without a CPU installed" option, you can handle it yourself beforehand.

It seems like you're confirming that 887 fits your budget and that a 950w PSU is currently in use, which isn't a major concern.

and you mentioned checking the CPU problem by ensuring the motherboard has an updated BIOS or a manufacturer label indicating 5000 series AMD

The B550 Tomahawk BIOS can be updated without a CPU if the board lacks the required version. You can still check for the sticker or ask the seller, and if it's missing, you can proceed yourself without a CPU installed. Another question, your opinion on the AMD RX 5700XT versus the RTX 2060? According to userbenchmark it shows a 20% improvement. However, I've also noticed they often run quite hot and lack ray tracing capabilities.
