I'm using an i-5 3470 with 8GB RAM and a GPU of RX 560 4GB. I found a Ryzen 5 3400G for 50 euros, and I was thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen CPU. Prices for new parts are expensive here, and I'm struggling to find recommended motherboards on YouTube. I was considering an ASROCK B450M-HDV R4.0 around 70-80 euros with 16GB RAM, which would cost about 80 euros. I tried to save some money by using my old components together. However, I know the new Ryzon 7s will likely drop in price soon, and AliExpress might have deals. I'm unsure if the ASROCK B450M-HDV R4.0 can handle it. We also have a few other options: GIGABYTE B450 GAMING X at 110 euros, B450 AORUS ELITE at 120 euros, and B450 AORUS M at 105 euros. Those boards would push my budget higher even with the cheaper RAM. What should I do? Also, ASUS B450M-K at 75 euros, GIGABYTE B450M H1.0 at 73 euros, MSI B450M-A PRO MAX at 90 euros, GIGABYTE B450M DS3H 1.0 at 87 euros, and MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX at 87 euros are available. Which one might be better? Please let me know your thoughts before posting, and sorry if I made any errors.

Avoid any cooling solutions for the CPU power delivery. Steer clear of these options unless you plan to upgrade to an 8-core processor later. These are suitable for fitting an 8-core CPU while keeping it at normal speeds. Large VRM heat sinks work well. Since the Aorus M offers the best value, it’s ideal. Can you secure the ASRock B450M Pro4 or Pro4-F? They’re solid budget builds too. The Gigabyte B450M S2H also provides a decent cooling solution. Double-check that the 3400G listing isn’t a fake if you haven’t bought it yet. As they say, “too good to be true!”

This CPU isn't a scam. I'm getting one from a friend who isn't happy with it. He got it in a pre-built PC that he paid too much for, and he's looking for an R7. I'm trying to find the recommended motherboards for better performance.

Really poor build. Low quality, skip it. Good build if you have an 8-core processor without overclocking because VRM isn't its best feature. The top tier is just a bit better. This is still a solid option. Aim for the VHD max. Pro 4, Mortar, and Tomhawk are worth it if you can find them. If not, go for the Aorus M or Elite.

Opt for the premium option and add 2 DTicks on 4 GB to lower upfront costs. Or choose gaming X for enhanced performance.

Elite, the M, or gaming X? If those are the sole choices, go for 16 on the more affordable board.

The discussion focuses on memory options and their impact on performance. It suggests starting with 16GB rather than upgrading later, noting that higher capacities come at a price. The conversation touches on gaming-related terminology but clarifies that motherboard quality doesn't vary much for parts performance. The post was edited on July 9, 2020 by Fasauceome.

If you're having trouble with your budget, consider getting one 8GB drive now and another later when you have more funds. It might run a bit slower initially, but it's only a short-term solution until you upgrade to a second drive. Purchasing two 4TB drives isn't cost-effective if you plan to go up to 16GB later.

I discovered an AsRock B450 Pro 4 for 115 euros. Aorus Elite is another option—compare them to see which suits your needs better.
