Hey everyone, I’ve been using my 7900xtx Merc 310 for about a year now. It’s definitely a solid card, but I’m noticing some issues with ray tracing and driver problems that are making it harder to use. I used to think waiting another year would be better, but with the rising GPU prices, I feel more confident switching to a 5080 OC and getting rid of my 7900xtx.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
If ray tracing is what you're after, you'll certainly need to go with Nvidia's RTX 5000 series.
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

My main worries are about the PSU and melty connector. The 5080 offers better RT performance, though it has a very high cost.

If the PSU isn't equipped with the updated connector yet, I would purchase one from Corsair.

It has a specific 12v 2x6 outlet, but it's possible the cable was misplaced. I placed an order for a replacement last night.

I think for around 600 if you can get the 9070xt, it’s a solid card. Don’t misunderstand, the 5080 is decent but if you’re aiming for 1200-1300, I’m not sure if the higher price is worth the extra performance of the 9070xt. However, if you’re after RT, the 5080 might be the better choice.
