Good afternoon everyone! I’m planning to upgrade the memory on my prebuilt Dell machine. The current setup is MOD,DIMM,16GB,2X8,3200,16,U,NE. I want to increase it to 32GB. The processor is an i7-11700 @ 2.5GHz and a 1660 GPU. It was installed in a compact tower configuration, so space is important. I mainly use low settings for games like Nightrein and don’t need a more powerful system right now. Thanks ahead!

I have a prebuilt Dell computer
Can you please pass on the model and SKU to your Dell prebuilt?
It came in one of the mini tower setups so clearance is definitely a must.
You could also take pictures of the innards and the sticks of ram for us to understand how much clearance you have at your disposal. Host your images on a site akin to Imgur and then pass on a link here.
Where are you located? What is your budget for your ram purchase? Preferred site for purchase?

It is an XPS 8940
https://www.dell.com/support/manual...d2...d63c1dbc34&lang=en-us
Your ready-made unit supports up to 192GB, which equals 32GB in each of the four slots. The highest speed it can handle is DDR4-2933MHz. You might consider these options:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/XC...-2...16d-32gisb
if you prefer 32GB or similar models;
http://pcpartpicker.com/product/s28...x-...2g4dfra32a
for a 64GB configuration.
As usual, be sure to update the BIOS on your Dell prebuilt before upgrading the memory.
