Hello, and happy holidays! Right now I’m using: CPU i3 9100f, RAM Hyper Fury 2x8GB at 2666MHz, GPU Zotac GTX 1070 8GB, monitor H310 at 144Hz 1080p. Since I mainly play games, I’m not planning a monitor upgrade soon. I’m considering replacing my current CPU and RAM with something better. Would it be better to stick with Intel or switch to AMD? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

You require a new CPU because your current setup isn't meeting your performance expectations. If you're mainly focused on gaming with the 9400F, a significant improvement is likely.

For a long-term system boost, a Ryzen CPU would be ideal due to its strong upgrade potential. I suggest holding off on any changes now since components are scarce and prices are volatile. The current market in the US is quite unpredictable, so it might be better to wait until conditions stabilize.

I found some upgrade ideas in the My PC guide worth checking. A higher-quality chipset motherboard would help with overclocking RAM and similar tasks. If you have a better motherboard, I’d consider switching to AMD, though the post mentioned prices are too steep. If you prefer staying with Intel, the 9600k/9700k models would be a solid choice.

I'm from Georgia, the US prices don't really impact here.

The prices for those processors range depending on whether they're new or used, and they're well-suited for gaming PCs paired with top-tier graphics cards.

It costs around 1000 GEL, which is roughly 300$; however, I can trade my CPU/MB for cash.

Noticing slowdowns with i3 9100f and GTX 1070; planning to upgrade the rig for better performance.

You could just use an older 9700 (non-K) model.
