I recommend Debian or LMDE, Linux Mint Debian version. Use XFCE once configured, and adjust settings so it boots only via command-line. Keep memory usage between 150-200MB, and cache remaining tasks in RAM. Running XFCE consumes more memory when idle. It’s about reusing functional tools—just binary operations.
