Looking for a custom build to keep up with school for another year. RAM is hitting its limit mostly while using Google Cloud for CS tasks. Current specs are Intel Core i5-8600K (8th Gen), Coffee Lake, 6 cores, 3.6 GHz base, 4.3 GHz turbo, LGA 1151, 95W. Motherboard: Team T-Force Vulcan with 16GB DDR4 2400 MHz. GPU: GTX 1070 Ti 8GB GDDR5, PCIe 3.0 x16 SLI. Need advice on boosting RAM or speed so cloud stays responsive without using 90% of memory.
8th generation processors can handle up to 32GB modules, though a BIOS upgrade is often required. Your Z370 model was launched before the widespread use of high-density DDR4 RAM, so it may not be compatible with standard 16GB sticks in its original BIOS. It would be wise to contact MSI directly to confirm their current BIOS support, so you don’t have to deal with this yourself.
