I recently changed my graphics card from a MSI GTX1060 6GB to a Gigabyte Aurus 1080TI with 11GB RAM. After the upgrade, my CPU temperature often hits 95°C or more during intense games like Apex Legends and COD MW in ultra settings at 3840 x 1080 resolution. This usually starts after about five minutes of playtime. I’m still running the AMD Stock Wraith Prism. Idle temps sit around 61°C, while load temps in less demanding titles like League of Legends are near 88°C. I’ve attached a photo of my setup showing fan placement and airflow direction. Both front fans, rear fan, and top fan run at maximum speed continuously. The CPU and GPU fans are set to smart mode. Full specs: case NZXT S340, motherboard MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus, CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (not overclocked), graphics Gigabyte Aurus GTX1080TI 11GB, RAM G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16GB 3600MHz CL16 x2 (XMP enabled), PSU Corsair RM750X. Could it be the airflow causing overheating? The added front fans seem to help, but I think the 1080TI is producing excessive heat that the CPU cooler can’t manage. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Ensure all fasteners on the cooler are secured. Maintain operating temperatures near 40°C or below.

It seems the CPU cooler isn’t secured properly with the clasps. I might be mistaken. The picture appears slightly blurred upon closer inspection.

Thanks, I'll check it later when I'm back home. To be honest, the black part above the cooler that keeps the clasps tight seems a little loose—does that usually happen?

The fastening must be extremely secure, preventing any shifting. During installation, the clasp needs to rotate from left to right with significant effort.

Thank you, I'll attempt to reinforce it. It could be due to adjusting the case while installing the new card and PSU, causing the cooler to become loose.

The CPU cooler clasp was the issue, securing it again resolved the problem! It handles up to 75 degrees during operation. Thanks everyone!
