I noticed your R5 3600 running at high temps with the stock cooler. I upgraded to a 240mm AIO and saw temperatures drop to around 75°C under load. Then I tried adjusting the multiplier, which gave a stable 4.4GHz. What’s surprising is that even with full overclocking (4.4GHz) and a stress test, my temps stay at 55°C on stock and 55°C at 4.4GHz. Both idle at 30°C. It’s interesting but a bit puzzling. Also, I’m using a Gigabyte B550M DS3H board. Anyone think this could be due to cooling differences or other factors? Thanks for your help!

Certain boards in auto tuning often boost voltage unnecessarily. LLC and SOC are common ones to observe.

Unlikely to experience those voltage spikes from the clock ramping formula, which helps prevent brief temperature spikes. My own processors have remained stable and cooler even at higher sustained speeds, though stability still depends on testing. I’m keen to explore the Ryzen clock tuner once it becomes available.

I believe I grasp your point, though the only adjustment I made was the multiplier. That’s all. I’m glad I kept my CPU at 4.4ghz to maintain these low temperatures, but I feel let down by the standard temperatures when using a 240mm water cooler.
