Assembled a fresh PC after the previous one faced numerous problems, possibly due to an outdated motherboard or faulty power supply, which required returning it for repair. The new build is functioning perfectly except for the Bluetooth dongle from my old system. Plugging in earbuds causes audio distortion and occasional lag when using controllers, along with a strange beeping sound. These symptoms mirror those from the previous setup, suggesting the dongle might have affected the new machine. Could connecting this defective adapter have caused issues? Are there superior Bluetooth options for linking multiple devices? It seems the dongle is defective. Consider using a PCIe WLAN or Bluetooth adapter that fits into the lowest slot. The cheapest option is to integrate it into the motherboard, though you’re likely beyond that since it’s not built in. Start by testing the Bluetooth connection with various USB ports. Ensure no obstacles are obstructing the signal between the dongle and your device. Also, keep in mind that having many Bluetooth gadgets can cause interference.
I originally wanted something with built-in functionality, but this model met all my requirements and exceeded expectations. It was available at a great price at Microcenter, and its design matched my case perfectly. I assumed the dongle would work fine, though I’ll definitely look into the PCIe alternative. I’m pretty sure plugging it in won’t cause any damage.
I gave it a shot but didn’t see any improvement. Used USB in the back of my device and front on the case—same problem. Also noticed Windows couldn’t locate the latest driver, so I downloaded and installed one myself from the manufacturer’s site, but issues persisted (it actually caused the earbuds to lose sync with PC volume). Right now I only connect my earbuds and 8BitDo.
