Hello, your motherboard is an Asus B350-F gaming model. You've updated the BIOS several times before this upgrade, but the PC isn't booting, showing nothing on the screen or responding to keyboard input. The old 1600 series works fine. There are no bent pins on the new CPU, so it might be defective. Your RAM is a Corsair Vengeance LPX 16x2 at 3200mhz. After resetting the BIOS again, the 5700X3D still won't boot and you cleared CMOS with the new CPU but didn’t notice any difference. You waited at least five minutes after the first attempt. Load your 1600X into the system and enter the BIOS settings. Verify the current BIOS firmware version. The B350-F model includes a 128 Mb (16 MB) Flash ROM for the BIOS. I recall older 300-series and 400-series boards had a compact Flash ROM chip to hold CPU support details. On those platforms, updating the BIOS to enable support for Ryzen 3000-series and later usually removes compatibility with Ryzen 1000/2000 CPUs.

You only performed the Ethernet BIOS update, which doesn’t automatically add support for the 3000+ series. You can still install the update manually by downloading the firmware for your specific model from the manufacturer’s website and using an EZ Flash tool to transfer it to your device.

For instance, MSi offered several B450 boards with a compact BIOS ROM, while their "MAX" models featured a bigger 256 Mb chip, allowing more CPU support without reduction. EDIT: For example, the MSi B450 Tomahawk includes 128 Mb Flash, whereas the revised B450 Tomahawk MAX supports 256 Mb Flash. Updating via network or Windows may cause problems; using a USB stick with EZ Flash is often safer. Before re-flashing the BIOS, open the BIOS settings and verify the current version.

It functioned correctly, thank you very much! 😊 Still facing an issue though—the Windows 11 installer claims my PC doesn’t meet the minimum specs. With a Ryzen 7 5700X, an RX 7700 XT, and 32GB RAM... I have TPM enabled and secure boot set to Windows. I even cleared the secure boot keys, but it still says otherwise. Maybe the installer isn’t accepting the BIOS files? I’ll try using a different USB drive next time.

Ensure your system meets the necessary specifications in the BIOS settings. Review the AMD fTPM configuration options, including selecting the TPM device and enabling the factory reset option. Also, activate the CSM compatibility module and disable the launch feature for a clean installation.

These choices functioned well! Thank you for your patience. Are there any settings to enable waking the PC from a full shutdown? I’ve been searching for a long time and only found the "S4+S5" feature, which only triggers when it’s asleep or hibernating.

I was on a road trip last weekend. It’s hard to remember… once the computer shuts off, you can’t bring it back to life. Someone built a “smart power switch” that lets you turn it on from a phone remotely.
