10700k, MSI MPG Gaming Plus MB, 32gb 3600 ram, 4080 Super, and 850w bronze Evga BQ PSU. Files saved on SSD. An example is Elden Ring. Though frame rates dip for everyone, I notice significant drops during battles that didn’t occur on my 3060. Those drops last longer than expected. Afterburner shows 1070mV underload while GPU-Z reports 1075mV underload. I ran a benchmark on Time Spy and got an overall score of 22560 with a graphics score of 27953, which feels about 500 points below the average for 4080 Supers. Pic1 shows Elden Ring open at 4k, all settings max, Max Raytracing, GPU-Z active. On YouTube, others using a 4080 pull over a hundred watts more than me. Pic2 displays my usual settings: 1440p max with Raytracing off and GPU-Z enabled. Got any suggestions? Edit – No clue why multiple images keep showing up. I can’t even delete them for some reason?
He friend has been attempting to assist and brought his 3080 for testing because I can't use my 3060. Overall performance improves across all games, though FPS drops naturally. The 3080 consumes about a hundred watts more in Elden Ring, sixty more in Forbidden West, and roughly ninety less in Resident Evil 4 Remake, while offering better 1 and .1 lows. Is this due to a defective 4080 Super? The main hardware change was an additional PCIe cable with the 4080 Super. Maybe the cable or PSU port is faulty. We both lack expertise on this topic and are just guessing.
