Hi! I’m not very familiar with computers, but I have an A12-9800 and an ASUS A320-IK motherboard. I’m wondering if I can upgrade from the A12-9800 to a Ryzen 5 5500. On the Asus website (link you shared), they mention that support for AMD 7th Gen A-series/Athlon X4 processors ended after BIOS version 5862, but the Ryzen 5 5500 is version 6042. Can I flash the BIOS to a newer version with my A12-9800, and then swap it out for the Ryzen 5 5500 without issues? Thanks! And please forgive my English—I’m still learning! Big Grin

You might be able to restart, but once the flash is done you can't boot using the A12. Certain boards include internal safeguards; I've noticed some refusing updates to a BIOS that would remove CPU support.
