I’m considering an upgrade for my PC. I’ve already added an 8GB RAM stick with 3200MHz and a 16GB RAM stick with 2400MHz. Since mixing RAM speeds isn’t important, I want to know which option would be better: the faster 3200MHz RAM at 8GB or the slower 2400MHz RAM at 24GB.

Generally, more RAM tends to be better. Swapping to the system drive can drastically slow things down—often by a factor of 100 or more. Even if your RAM becomes slightly slower, avoiding disk paging as much as possible makes a noticeable difference. This effect is clear when increasing from a single 64-bit channel stick to two 128-bit channels. Under normal conditions, you'd anticipate a 128-bit interface at 2400MHz being roughly 50% faster than a 3200MHz 64-bit setup.
