Updating a motherboard is when you should actually reinstall Windows. It probably won’t help if you skip it, but you’re unsure about possible driver problems.

You can skip the BIOS setup and directly reinstall Windows after updating drivers. Boot into Windows normally, install your new drivers, and then proceed with the installation as usual.

Start by saving all your data. Next, create a USB installation media for Windows. The rest is optional—just boot into the old setup for fun and see if it works. Eventually, switch to the USB, erase everything, and begin from scratch.
