To take it further, we could include a SATA cable in addition. Then you'd simply send power via PCIe while using SATA for data transfer. I didn't mean this to make sense.

Everyone did a great job with this project! I’m handling my storage now, but I was considering using these SATA3 ports for something practical. I’ll probably stick to an NVMe enclosure and explore other options later. Thanks a lot for your thoughts. I hope nobody laughs at me and I don’t get many helpful answers.

Mostly the folks around here are pretty supportive. Everyone began from scratch, so you're not starting as a pro. Hope your upgrade or build goes well!
