New setup completed following removal of prior GPU drivers for the 1060. If the 2060 starts behaving oddly later, it may indicate an overheating problem, possibly causing it to throttle. How are your temperatures looking?

In gaming situations where left-side FPS remains unrestricted, FPS may spike significantly during demanding events like large player counts or complex physics, causing sudden drops that feel abrupt. You might not have noticed this on your 1060 with 3GB RAM, but newer models can handle higher rates. Edit: which titles are you encountering this issue with?

R6S Division 2 often drops to 40fps under certain conditions. CSGO presents the most challenging scenario currently. FPS fluctuations range from 195 to 299, yet sudden jumps are common without any stuttering. You can notice this effect during gameplay.
