Hello, I'm looking to enhance my old Corsair Vengeance LX 2666 16Gigs RAM to 32Gigs 3600 CL16. My options are: GSKill Ripjaws V ($110) and Kingston Fury ($105). GSKill Trident Z/Trident Z Neo ($150). Which one fits best with your setup? CPU: R7 5800X3D, Board: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Bios ver F63f.

If you're not concerned about RGB and prefer improved performance, the Ripjaws V appears to be a superior choice.

Currently, the Ripjaws V stands out as the best option because it offers better availability compared to the Fury at the same cost.

All scam 3600c16 units that don’t improve performance because primaries aren’t doing much unless you’re sure 3600c18 is quicker. If you need better RAM speed, adjust the RAM yourself—there’s no shortcut regardless of how expensive the chips are. High-end options (>4000) often have poor timing and even fail at extreme speeds. The 5800X3D models ignore fast RAM speeds above 3200, so stick with 3200c16 or 3600c18 if you want stock XMP support. For speedy RAM, go for 4x8 Crucial 3200c16 or Klevv 3200c16/3600c18 (preferred). Run it at 3800-4000 MHz or your maximum clock speed, max out TRIFI (65536+), then fine-tune the primaries—don’t overdo CL or TCL as they waste power. You shouldn’t need more than 1.5V, and because this frequency is moderate, stabilization should be easy and take only a few hours.

Uncertain if the upgrade is worth it—3D chips aren’t much affected by RAM speed, and 32GB isn’t really helpful for gaming. It’s DDR4, which means it’s likely outdated, and you won’t be able to upgrade it. Have you tried overclocking your RAM to something like 2833 or 3000?

The specifications for my motherboard remain unchanged since October 2021. There are ripjaws available, but the 2x8 configuration isn't present—only the 2x16. The Trident Z is compatible with a 4x16 model, not a 2x16. Kingston isn't listed here, but when I check the product numbers for HyperX, I see Kingston's details.

I attempted OC settings but encountered blue screen errors when exceeding 2666. I won't be upgrading to a DDR5 platform soon either.

avoid blindly speeding up your RAM, inspect the burner settings and share a screenshot for confirmation. Once you locate the OEM results online, simply paste another person's configuration with slight tweaks if needed. Even if you encounter issues with a low-end Xeon iMC, a 3200 MHz RAM works fine for me after upgrading from 1150 MHz on my Xtreem Dark. For DDR3 info, checking a DDR3 thread for a budget 1333 Samsung 1Gbit chip helped me reach 2200 MHz with ease, though further boosts were limited by the quality of the Xeon iMC.
