I thought about getting a new RAM but noticed your laptop has a 1RX16 slot. I wondered if a 2RX8 stick would fit and work with it.
If it fits, it will work. The 1RX16 and 2RX8 only indicate the chip rank, so 1RX16 means a single-rank chip and 2RX8 means dual-rank. This implies either one bank of chips (for single-rank) or two banks (for dual-rank) that can be used when needed. Unless your maker demands single-rank chips, adding the new dual-rank chips (alongside single-rank ones) should not cause issues if everything functions properly.
