Installed a new CPU and updated drivers, but still faces lagging during gaming. Tried using DDU on GPU and audio in safe mode, checked motherboard site, downloaded all necessary drivers, ensured BIOS is up to date. Nothing seems to resolve the issue. Please help.
DDU doesn’t seem to affect CPUs as understood. Lag is a vague term here, and I’m unsure if it refers to network issues or something else. Could you clarify the symptoms and whether you’ve performed a fresh installation?
I shared two clips showing what’s occurring while playing Path of Exile, including moments when CPU latency appears. It seems the issue persists even after checking for it. In the second clip, my game crashed during a factory reset, and I used the PC Reset option while the repair screen was active.
I’m not comfortable with PC resets or their purpose. What I understand is a full restart rather than the hibernate function Windows uses, which involves shutting down and then starting again. A complete reinstall would essentially mean reinstalling Windows along with reformatting the hard drive and adding everything anew. I assume this didn’t occur. It’s possible your device wasn’t properly configured for the new CPU chip. The only method I’m aware of is a clean install. This might not be the sole option, and it’s conceivable the reset process actually handled this situation. During a clean reinstall, the installer scans for new hardware and sets up the right components. I suspect there could be some incorrect data in your system, which might appear in logs—checking those could help.
