Upgrade your Lenovo ThinkStation TD340 CPU options.
I recently acquired my old server and wanted to upgrade it to a main rig. However, after installing new CPUs, it won't boot even with the original CPU back in place. I'm struggling to resolve this issue since there aren't many online solutions. It's an old Lenovo ThinkServer TD340 with an e5 2407 v2 processor, two 1TB HDDs, and 16GB of DDR3 ECC memory. I'm planning to install two E5 2470 v2 CPUs. I've tried both ECC and standard RAM, but I can't get it to boot or access the BIOS. Edit: I should note that the RAM slots seem faulty. This limits my RAM options. Updated August 4, 2023 by Toa_Impey
Can you take out the CMOS battery (the silver one on the motherboard) for five minutes and attempt it again using the original CPU? This will restore the BIOS to its default configuration if needed.
I've already performed a CMOS reset and discharged the battery multiple times.
