You can upgrade your old PC using either the i5-3330S or i5-3470S from eBay. It’s more affordable that way. Make sure the CPU fits the H2 LGA 1155 socket. If you consider the i7-3770S, you’ll need a 160W power supply brick.

I considered purchasing a new power supply (160W) or if I could still run the existing 120W OEM unit. A forum member suggested the 160W model is required for the i7-3770S, though they mentioned compatibility with the i5-3470S using the original power supply. I’m thinking about buying a new PC soon and want to preserve the old one for backup purposes if needed. This CPU upgrade is unfamiliar to me—I bought an i7-3770S on eBay without fully reviewing the details and used it in an H3 LGA 1150 socket. As noted, I required a H2 LGA 1155 socket—my error. Time to return.
