Upgrade your HP SFF!
I recently bought an HP EliteDesk SFF setup with all the standard components: AMD A6 PRO-7400B R5 processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz, and a 1TB hard drive. While it’s not a high-end machine, it still performs adequately. I’m considering upgrading the CPU, adding more RAM, and installing a graphics card. Regarding your question about whether standard upgrades are worthwhile or if it’s time to move on, I’m open to advice. I have no concerns other than its size—smaller is preferable—and I’m okay with the price. If anyone can guide me, I’d really appreciate it.
Lose your investments and adopt a new machine—it's not worth the cost.
Find an alternative option. Avoid the restricted route for upgrades.
The device relies on unique proprietary components. Upgrading a PSU or motherboard isn't practical, FM2+ acts like a non-functional socket, and most high-end GPUs aren't significantly taller than average. The only feasible improvements are RAM, which won't greatly boost performance. I'd choose whatever is available and opt for a standard design instead.
