I upgraded my HP Pavilion gaming laptop after watching some tutorials and bought Corsair Vengeance RAM (two 16GB, 3200 MHz DDR4, SODIMM). I installed it but the machine won't start. Once I replaced the old stick, it worked perfectly. Uncertain about what I was doing wrong. Checked the Crucial website; although not Crucial brand, the specs match and they confirmed it would fit model 15-EC0013XD.

Checked the compatibility page for HP Compac Pavilion 15. Did you attempt to install each component individually?

Certain brands rely on particular suppliers. For instance, Dell outside its own factory modules only offered essential dimmer options for their DDR3 laptops.

I upgraded my HP Pavilion and added another 8GB module of the same brand and model. Could be a compatibility problem or you may need to refresh the firmware.

It seems the Corsair brand didn’t respond well to your attempt. I’ll just review the essentials and see what happens next. I confirmed the firmware was up-to-date and tested each stick individually, but still encountered a black screen.
