Hello, your question is clear. Considering a GPU purchase in late 2019 with a 1060 3GB is a good idea, especially since you're upgrading your i3 8100 CPU. It might be better to switch now rather than wait. For a $500 budget, I recommend looking at mid-range options like the RTX 3050 or A600 series GPUs paired with an i5 or i3 CPU. These provide solid performance without breaking the bank.

I’d likely move to an R5 2600 using a more affordable motherboard, then upgrade to the 5700 if you’re willing to invest a bit more.

The current setup is causing issues with the card, so it's best to switch the CPU first. What model do you own?

It's a good idea to switch platforms. Which motherboard would you prefer?

You'd receive a B450 Tomahawk Max with a score of 2600.

Currently I don't think so, perhaps in the future.

You won't gain any advantage from using an X470 board. If you're aiming to boost performance, the tomahawk offers a simpler alternative.
