Upgrade your device and install Windows 10.
You secured an OEM win 8.1 home key and upgraded to win 10. I’m checking if upgrading your motherboard will cause any problems. I’m familiar with the driver updates and can handle that myself. Do I need to reformat my drive? Will my copy lose its authenticity? Are there any other concerns I should know about? Thanks in advance for your help.
Changing settings might disable your account. You can either 1) move to version 8.1, replace parts, and then go back to 10, or 2) change components and contact Microsoft support for activation.
If you need to format your drive, there’s usually a way to keep your programs visible in the control panel. Since most of your files are on the HDD, you can reinstall them without losing access. Just ensure the uninstallers are still listed, which might require checking your system settings or contacting support.
