You can simply swap the CPUs without needing to update the BIOS. Your motherboard already supports the latest BIOS version 2803, and both your ASUS B550F and Ryzen 5 models should work with the Ryzen 5 5600X. Just ensure the CPU socket matches (both are compatible) and power delivery is sufficient.

A jump from 3600 to 5600X isn't justified. The investment doesn't justify keeping the same core count. Opt for a Ryzen 7, such as 5700X or 5800X.
